About Dallas, TX

Established in 1913, Guaranty Bank & Trust is one of the oldest and most respected banks in Texas. We have achieved this success by providing the communities we serve with a different kind of bank. One that believes smart banking is about investing in people, not just credit scores; succeeding with the community, not at its expense; and having a plan for your growth, not just our own. We offer personal and business banking solutions, as well as Treasury Management and SBA Lending.

Mike Merritt
With 35 years of dedicated service as a community banker, Mike Merritt has built a career defined by trust, consistency, and a deep commitment to the people he serves.

Born and raised in Dallas, never living more than a mile from where he grew up, Mike’s life and work are firmly anchored in the Dallas community that shaped him.

A proud graduate of The University of Texas, Mike has paired his education with decades of hands‑on experience helping individuals, families, and businesses across the Dallas area thrive. His community connection extends beyond his work as Mike is also a lifelong volunteer and servant leader within the Dallas community.

He is passionate about giving back and strengthening the place he has always called home, whether through local service initiatives, mentorship, or supporting neighborhood organizations. Outside of his work and volunteer efforts, Mike enjoys spending time at his lake house in Marshall, Texas. There, he is a committed steward of the East Texas community and its natural environment, continuing his long tradition of caring for the communities, land, and people around him.
